Estefanía Abella: What is the relationship model that is executed in Álvarez Liévano Laserna with the client?
Felipe Álvarez: The firm's model is based on personalized attention, from each partner and the lawyers, to each of its clients. For us it is important to know, first hand and directly, the problems of each client to generate quick and timely solutions that are of great value.
Knowing in an integral way each of our clients, we take care of giving them through our work teams the best information so that they can make the best decisions.
EA: What is Alvarez Liévano Laserna's philosophy, target and relationship model?
FA: We are a law firm that provides comprehensive advice on labor matters to clients who require it. The main clients are companies from different sectors of the national economy, and what we mainly do is to provide them with advice on all their labor issues so that they can make timely decisions and minimize the labor risk.
EA: What is the firm's value proposition and what makes you different from other legal service providers?
FA: The firm's value proposition is based on four main pillars: continuous professional development, 100% of the firm's lawyers have or are pursuing postgraduate degrees in labor law; continuous improvement of processes; our extensive experience; and excellence in service quality, which allows us to provide the client with a unique, differential and personalized service, through direct communication channels with the lead partner of the account.
Clients highlight focus, precision, in-depth analysis and availability as the firm's most representative qualities, as well as the confidence and level of sophistication in the legal advice provided, a standard they have not found in any other law firm in Colombia.
Likewise, the integrity of the services provided allows us to know in depth the client's requirements and to define short, medium and long term strategies that generate continuity and guarantee the objectives established by the companies in the management of human resources at an individual and collective level.
EA: How has the pandemic affected the dynamics with clients?
FA: Actually, as a firm we feel that the pandemic did not affect our work and communication dynamics with our clients; on the contrary, it has given us a much more direct approach to them.
We have several of our clients in different cities of the national territory and many times the physical displacement was much more delayed and complex, today, with the new modalities that have been given under the pandemic, we all learned that virtually we are just as efficient and productive as in person, since the virtuality gives us these facilities. In addition, we have generated faster response times.
I believe that the client today has realized that he can solve his issues more efficiently and quickly with the information technologies that we are handling.
EA: What is the innovation model at Álvarez Liévano y Laserna like?

Additionally, we have a platform called All in One, where the client can know first hand and immediately several procedures that can be generated by the work of the firm.

EA: WHAT CHALLENGES DO YOU SEE THAT CLIENTS WILL FACE IN THE WORKPLACE IN A POST-PANDEMIC WORLD?What challenges do you see that clients will face in the workplace in a post-pandemic world and how is Álvarez Liévano y Laserna preparing to support them?
FA: One of the great challenges that are being presented at the labor level in the world and in Colombia in the post-pandemic period is the return to work in person, although it may seem simple, I believe, on the contrary, that it is one of the most complex issues.
The world changed its relationship in the ways of working, different business leaders in the world are realizing that people can be more productive by performing their work in a different way.
As well as with the advance of information technologies, which today allow us to communicate easily at an international level and to be much faster and more timely in solving problems. So, this is how I believe that teleworking and working at home are part of one of the great challenges that we will have to address in the coming years, as well as the adaptation of workers to face-to-face work and new working conditions.
The firm has not been oblivious to this and we have not only been preparing internally to face these new challenges, but we have also given our clients a number of tools to achieve new forms of hybrid work, where face-to-face and virtuality are combined.
In this way, we can ensure that the productivity of companies reaches its optimum level without sacrificing at any time the personal and intimate life of each person, which is also a very important issue.
